Joya de ceren El Salvador

The archaeological site Joya de Cerén is located south of the current farmhouse with the same name in the municipality of San Juan Opico, La Libertad. This site is very important because it includes the remains of the best preserved pre-Hispanic village in Mesoamerica. In 1993, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, as it is the only archaeological site in El Salvador with evidence of daily life of the inhabitants of Mesoamerica from 1600 years ago as well as its excellent state of preservation of botany and fauna old, and for being a source of outstanding value from the point of view of history, art and science.
